![]() Release dates based on steam, so they may be a bit off due to timed exclusivity or me checking the "complete" editions Oh, and here are titles that were most recommended for me to try: Special thanks to Wintermute101, Vincer and MSKOTOR for sharing their perspective in really extensive and thought-out responses. or rather several but's:īut 1 - there are awesome games released by indie devsīut 2 - it's not the age, it's experience - since I've been gaming for 25+ years, I have seen and experienced a lot, so it's more difficult for me to see something newīut 3 - it's just easier to get hyped, about any thing, whether game, book or crush, when you're young.īut 4 - there is plenty of "old, but not yet experienced" - genres I haven't tried, franchises I heard of, but never played Thanks for all responses, the consensus seems to be that, yeah, there is a bit of a slump in the AAA sphere, but. (I should have blocked the first comment for this, but well) Starfield, new Mass Effect, new Witcher, some new Wolfenstein or Doom, Armored Core 6, Banishers, Hades 2, Immortals of Aveum, Avowed, Star Wars Eclipse, Judas, Hellblade 2) RPG: Skyrim, Witcher 3, Mass Effect 3, DA: InquisitionįPS: Wolf: New Order, Borderlands, DOOM, annual CoD and BF?Īction adventure: Last of Us, Tomb Raider, annual Assassins' Creed, GTA V, Shadow of Mordorĭid I sleep over some major releases? I try to follow the news, but I admit, with less and less excitement.Įvery game I'm excited to play seems to be either 5+ years old (I have a large backlog) or years in the future (e.g. Some game truly new, some must-play, not just a sequel/spin-off/remaster/remake: Was there any major release in respective genres after the games below. I also have to admit, that it was around this time I started a new job, my own place, basically started "adulting" more, so maybe it's me.īut please tell me, is the anything I'm missing? I definitely cannot find anything hype-worthy in the last 5 years It's hard for me to pinpoint the exact date, but I feel that around ten years ago, things just stopped, at least as far AAA single-player games are concerned. I play single-player only (allowing for some drop-in MP like in Dark Souls) and every time I spin up something new, it turns out it's not new at all. This one is a gem.I have recently got a bit more time to spend gaming, but I struggle to find any recent game that pulls me in. Overall, Stranded Deep is by far one of the chiller, funner Indie survival games to come out recently (besides the glorious and dark, The Forest) I recommend really giving this a shot if you like chill, Indie survival adventure games. I hope that issue will soon be patched up. I don't really have that issue with other online multiplayer games. My small main complaint is how much it seems to crash on me when playing multiplayer mode (optionable). There's always a lot to do and some sea monster bosses to fight as well. ![]() ![]() Sure, it's repetitive (you have to eat, drink, sleep etc.) but once you get the hang of things there's something really charming and chill. With each new update it really improves a bunch and I can't wait to see what else will come with it. I really got sucked into this one for a while and still play often, from time to time. While there isn't much of a story here, aside from an anonymous character is involved in a plane crash over the ocean ending up stranded on a deserted island, the survivor aspects of the game make it a fun and a very replayable game. I loved listening to the sounds of rain and the muted subtle background music. This game is great to play when wanting to unwind, everything is fairly simple after you get the basics down. I'm glad another reviewer pointed this aspect out as well, exactly my thoughts. ![]() I found the island isolation to be peaceful and relaxing, even with all the surviving to be done. When I first downloaded it I was expecting it to be kinda cheesy and unenjoyable, not something I would really like as much as I did, but seriously it was pretty fun and also very chill. There's really a lot going for this game despite how simple it might appear off the bat. STRANDED DEEP was a great little survival adventure gem of a game that I found recently. ![]()
